Ojai Wine Festival
From its humble beginning in 1987, the Ojai Wine Festival has grown into a leading regional event attracting about 5,000 people from throughout the central coast and southern California. The festival has played a role in introducing people to the bounty of Ojai, which has been named by Sunset Magazine as one of the top five “Food and Wine Havens in the West.” The Ojai Wine Festival has made its home at beautiful Lake Casitas Recreation Area event site and always falls on the second Sunday in June. With its ideal venue and extraordinary fan base, the Ojai Wine Festival has become a favorite affair for attending wineries with their numbers doubling to event capacity.
Since it’s inception the Ojai Wine Festival has raised over $1,270,000.00. All net proceeds from The Ojai Wine Festival will go to aid many important Rotary Community Service Projects in particular; science based field trips for elementary school students on the Rotary Floating Classroom, Elementary School Dictionary project, educational scholarships, Youth Student Exchange Program, Girl’s Empowerment Workshop, and the national volunteer disaster preparedness Community Emergency Response Team training (C.E.R.T.). Local projects focus on improving education in our public schools, helping area youth through grants in the arts, music, and athletic programs, supporting the elderly, and assisting those in need. In addition The Rotary of Ojai West Foundation, Inc. supports many international projects that help protect the environment and drinking water, implement literacy programs, improving women’s and children’s health, combat poverty, fight diseases, eradicate polio worldwide and support grants for Peace Projects. For beer lovers, our beer garden offers a fantastic variety of over thirty specialty beers. Discover a superb selection of local restaurants selling delicious culinary delights. Our silent wine auction has become a popular attraction featuring fine wines, private tasting parties, VIP winery tours and other wine related items. In addition we have arts and crafts vendors, musical entertainment, a lakeside dance floor, and free boat rides on the Rotary boat.
VIP ticket holders have all the privileges of general admission and enjoy early event entry plus exclusive use of the VIP Lounge. The VIP Lounge offers premium shaded seating along the stunning lakefront. Solely offered in the VIP Lounge is a supreme selection of fine wines and specialty beers along with scrumptious hors d’oeuvres. (You must be over twenty-one to enter.)
