Hugh Margerum a local artist and web sales manager at Margerum Wine Company, coined the name based on the historical landmark on Canon Perdido and Santa Barbara streets…Situated within the Spanish colonial historic El Paseo amid the Presidio Neighborhood is the Wine Collection of El Paseo, where six different tasting rooms - Au Bon Climat, Grassini, Happy Canyon Vineyard, Jamie Slone Wines, Margerum Wine Company and MWC32 - are now open and pouring their latest and greatest vintages. Jamie Slone, who has spearheaded the branding of this group, says "I believe the consumer wants and easy way to connect with, relate to, and identify with the tasting rooms."
